Nanotechnology

A surface finishing method by means of which TEFLON(R) in the form of tiny particles having a size of 10-9 m (standard sizes used up to now were 10-3 to 10-6 m) is applied to the rope sheath. It covers the whole surface of the rope perfectly and forms an almost impermeable protective layer along the entire rope, protecting it against water, dust and other particles that might damage the sheath or the core of the rope.

Both laboratory tests and the experiences of our test climbers have shown that the NANOTECHNOLOGY means thatTENDON ropes are able to boast better water-proofing and abrasion-proofing parameters when compared to other products – these ropes show minimum absorption and maximum resistance to sharp rock edges. Logically, their service life and the safety of climbers are improved.

TEFLON®

TENDON climbing ropes are the only ropes in the world to be produced with a DuPontTM TEFLON® fabric protector license. Ropes protected by a TEFLON® layer have extraordinary water and abrasion resistance. The TEFLON® layer also effectively prevents the intrusion of dust particles into the rope structure and thus increases its lifespan.

The rope is protected with a very stable organic resin based on organic fl uoridated polymers. The resulting protective fi lm reduces the surface energy of the textile material so much that it not only repels water, but fatty substances as well. The rope is protected with a very stable organic resin based on organic fl uoridated polymers. The resulting protective fi lm reduces the surface energy of the textile material so much that it not only repels water, but fatty substances as well. It also prevents the penetration of those particles into the internal structure of the rope, protecting the inside of the rope from damage.

The TEFLON® layer gives our ropes superior properties for use, especially in damp or abrasive environments where ordinary ropes are vulnerable to serious damage. So, dynamic ropes with Protect Shield or Complete Shield fi nishing have higher safety and longer life than ever before

TeROM

The revolutionary system of rope marking uses a microchip integrated in the end of the rope to carry rope identifi cation information. TeROM allows for easier identifi cation and registration of rope inspections and checks. All data saved in the microchip can be easily read and some of them complemented using a mobile reader. The microchip contains both data programmed by the manufacturer (e.g. name, diameter, length and production date of the rope) and freely programmable data (numerical code, inspection date or identifi cation of the inspecting technician).

TENDURA®

The new process for treating TENDON – TENDURA®takes place under strictly controlled conditions where the sheath fi bres are treated with a complex system of chemical agents. During theTENDURA® treatment process the sheath fi bres adhere to each other, resulting in enhanced performance under load which leads to improved properties for the ropes.

TENDURA+ is a system of controlled resistance against abrasion, providing excellent abrasion resistance for TOUCH ropes, whilst maintaining all of their other key benefits.
